A 55-year-old man was sentenced today at Laganside as a result of an investigation by the Paramilitary Crime Task Force into drugs criminality linked to East Belfast UVF.

The Carolan Road in Belfast reopens

Due to a report of a substance located at premises, the Carolan Road area of Belfast has been closed this afternoon (Wednesday 24th April) for the attendance of emergency service colleagues. Motorists advised to avoid the area and seek alternative main routes for their journey.

Neighbourhood Officers have been out this evening conducting speed checks in the local area.
We are pleased to report that all motorists we checked were obeying the speed limit.

Two men aged 38 and 34 years old arrested by detectives investigating an attempted armed robbery at the Eastleigh Drive area of East Belfast on Saturday 20th April, have both been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police will be increasing patrols in the local area tonight after the incidents of disorder and assault last night.
Parents, please know where your children are.
We dont want young people getting hurt or involved in the criminal justice system.
