Unexpected layoffs continue to impact workers here in Los Angeles and across the country. The members of IGN Creators Guild deserve to sit at the bargaining table with management to outline a just plan of action and implement measures to prevent this from happening again.

In the wake of three employees being laid off, the IGN Creators Guild has filed an unfair labor practice charge with the NLRB and is currently in negotiations over the terms of the layoffs. bit.ly/4bphPS3

As a freelancer for IGN, I’m extremely disappointed to see the management lay off three members of the IGN Creators Guild not even a month after it was recognized as a union. Peer Schneider Yael Prough John Davison, your prioritization on profits over people is disgusting. Do better.

Everyone in journalism (and beyond) should care about what’s happening to the IGN Creators Guild.

Yael Prough, Peer Schneider, John Davison, you have the opportunity to bargain in good faith with your hardworking employees and rebuild trust. I sincerely hope you consider it.

Gonna be succinct but won't mince words: this has been infuriating, disheartening, and disappointing to watch unfold. The affected colleagues were endlessly hard-working and talented, and their livelihoods deserve consideration.

Having the start to bargaining be over layoffs is disheartening.
To watch the team you’re on get slashed is infuriating.
But the fact that none of this had to happen is what makes it all so unacceptable.

Joshua being laid off was probably the most dumbfounding. He had 10+ years on with a great standing with the company.

To say I’m devastated after being laid off from my dream job at IGN after 10 years is an understatement.
After a decade of pouring my heart & soul into my work, it’s all over in a surprise company reorg.
Our union is asking IGN to compromise on a fair and reasonable solution.

I’m one of the three employees. Had just shy of 5 years on, nothing but positive reviews. IGN Creators Guild presented a list of other options, to no avail.
