Cant have it both ways.

“*Never* reverse a taper” has no evidence and is a 1-size-fits all practice that can harm.

HHS tapering guidance, which i advised on, calls for *patient*-centered tapering, meaning individualized.

While it’s cited here, HHS doesn’t support this.

1/ I’ve heard many reasons that prescribers are unwilling to risk Rx’ing meds to pts who rely upon them for daily function: “I’m not willing to risk my license/job/med board/DEA action for you.”

In essence, the provider’s anxieties are the CC, and we’re all treating their fears.
