Are you a social justice educator in a divisive concept state (or not) and are interested in participating in a study comparing differences between states? My colleague Dr. Kaylene Stevens are hoping you might participate in our research. E-mail [email protected] for info.

I'm not always as active a member as I once was, but still proud to be one. Such great educators and even better humans in this group. Still growing as an educator and person with this group's help.

Today Parker Middle School, we marched paraphrases to Marley’s words. Then, we pulled evidence from the text that connects his words to Scrooge before building the “ponderous” chain that he “bears himself.”

If we continue with averaging scores over a course to determine a final grade instead of valuing more recent and consistent evidence of learning (as focused on a specific standard or learning outcome), we can't claim to value growth because, in fact, we don't.

Congratulations my former Framingham High School colleagues, Christopher Martell & Dr. Kaylene Stevens for their terrific article in this month's Social Education, a peer-reviewed NCSS publication! Also three cheers for ed profs who've actually taught in a regular public school setting.
