Bc Dems control WH & Sen, & McCarthy/Johnson worked from a weak bargaining position bc conservative hardliners refused to cooperate/compromise, making GOP House leaders dependent on Democratic votes. HFC consistently overplayed their hand on all issues, & as a result got nothing.

Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer said that on April 23, the Senate will vote on all bills including the one including aid to Ukraine. If adopted, which it high likely will, aid can be on its way to Ukraine by the end of next week already.

The key lesson will have to take from the House’s passage of the bill w/ mil aid for Ukraine (~$40 billion) is that he can’t count unchecked momentum any longer or bet that those urging negotiations on the grounds that UKR is headed for imminent defeat will prevail.
