To update you, Turner, 35, has now been arrested on suspicion of affray and assault causing actual bodily harm, and is currently in custody.

A woman from Preston has been jailed for 44 weeks and given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) for a string of shoplifting offences in Preston.

Victoria Heaton, 47, of Lancaster Road North, Preston was given the CBO last week.

We arrested a man, 38, after he was found carrying weapons on Bridge Road, Ashton-on-Ribble.

Officers stopped him at 3.51am today. Three knives and a baseball bat were seized.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and is currently in custody.

Yesterday, we told you about an arrest following two burglaries and a theft in Penwortham and Walton-le-Dale and we just wanted to let you know that we have now charged a man.

This is Austin Duckworth.

He has today been jailed for life for murdering his 72-year-old father, Stephen Duckworth, in Preston.

He will have to serve a minimum of 17 years before he is eligible for parole.

We would like to make you aware of an RTC that's happened on Black Bull Lane in Fulwood. This is currently causing traffic delays in the area. Thankfully no-one has been injured, but until we can move the vehicles we ask people to avoid the area and make alternative arrangements.

PC Pearson and PC Baxendale have been patrolling around the city centre and neighbourhoods engaging with the locals. They were lucky enough to meet a lovely young chap who was super happy he got to meet two Policemen!

Hopefully he enjoyed his doughnut.

Yesterday we appealed for information about Mackenzie Carter, 16, who was wanted in connection with an investigation into threats with a bladed article, ABH, and common assault.
Just to update you, Carter was arrested overnight and is currently in custody.

You might have seen that on Friday we appealed for information about Anthony Higgins, 35, who was wanted in connection with offences of section 18 wounding, threats to kill and criminal damage in Preston.
Higgins was arrested in Preston on Sunday and is currently in custody.
