I won't be neglecting the Canadians on my Battle Honours #Normandy80 tour 23 to 27 June 24. Among other things, I'll be looking at critical but underrated role of 3 CDN Div, and Op TOTALIZE, using the latest research

Reading Haig's diary (ed. Gary Sheffield), and this almost simple note (part of entry 24.8.1914) on the difference a car made to command and control stood out. Certainly no technophobe, he was aware of technological contributions and advancements, particularly of his modern era.
There will be plenty on American forces on my Battle Honours #Normandy80 tour 23/6 to 27/6/24. Among other things, I'll be looking at impressive US tactical adaptation & innovation in the bocage fighting.

A reason why I'm looking forward to leading #Normandy80 Battle Honours tour 23/6 to 27/6/24 is I'll be making use of research I've done in archives in UK, USA & Canada. This has given me new perspectives on the campaign. Battle Honours Tours
With #Normandy80 looming, we shall instead be concentrating on the real battles, beyond the beaches. The 6th June is of course important but is over emphasised to the detriment of the main campaign. Join us and Gary Sheffield this summer for a more in-depth look at Normandy.
