It goes without saying that this is absolutely appalling. I will be writing to the The Spectator to complain. I hope others will too.

Fascinated by the weetabix ad…

Decline in GB now resonates so widely that making fun of it can be believed to sell breakfast cereal.

Plus nice correlation isn’t causation joke…

Has Rishi Sunak/Keir Starmer had his weetabix?!! youtu.be/WpTO9gx4AB0

📉Ipsos UK have been polling for 45 yrs but in my mere seven I've seen...

💥Most unpopular Opp. leader ever (Corbyn)
💥Joint most unpopular PM ever (Sunak)
💥Joint most popular Opp. leader ever (Starmer*)
💥Joint lowest economic optimism ever (2022)
💥Lowest Con VI ever (now!)

We’re brilliant. How much do you agree we’re brilliant, or do you need to hear a bit more about how brilliant we are?

Incredible …

Even though I can’t get past the word ‘cluster’ without thinking ‘nutty’, Edinburgh is a gorgeous city, you’d have lovely and very smart colleagues and you’d get Edinburgh nightlife, culture, music, views and the sea …

It’s funny how potentially important things in news seem in the moment. We haven’t heard a peep since …

(Reminds me also of when Cameron as Foreign Sec would change the ideological appeal for Cons … um, no).

🗳️ With elections fast approaching, there’s one thing you’re sure to hear about more and more: POLLS.

👀 Polling seems to be everywhere.

🧐 But what actually is it? How does it work? And how can we tell which ones to trust?

📊 Our NEW guide explains.

Imagine you could show someone this mid Dec 2019… how would you explain it?

A pandemic, a scandal, an underlying economic crisis almost throughout, a dramatic loss of econ competence, three leaders. Making immigration a litmus test (ignoring lessons just years before…)

What a great opportunity… up to £30k, for pol behaviour research with impact - in an election year. Ideal opportunity for someone wanting to get used to grant-funded research, or all of us with a good-sized project to run. That £ could go a long way…

I’m looking forward to this. Can science predict the election? Which means social science is officially real science ;-)

If it makes any sense to call a general election in June, it made so much more sense, imo, to call it for May (which I thought was probably the damage limitation date). So now they have to go long and pray for something major to change, and for nothing else major the other way.

In today's HuffPost UK - our polling finds voters still more likely to think that the economy is getting worse rather than better. No doubt hampering the Government's attempts to get a feel good bounce from the economy. Even Conservative 2019 voters narrowly say worse.
