I’ve received a paw-some care package from Anna Marquiss who was concerned about my reduced mousing opportunities during lockdown. These chocolate mice will be, um, well attended to shall we say?! Stay safe folks, & look out for your fellow humans & cats (perhaps even dogs) 😸🐾

Staff training complete with a welcome back address from @CaptainRReadwin, delivered virtually to the whole BRNC force. All staff are now refreshed and ready to welcome a new intake of approx 150 new Officer Cadets next week. Capt Readwin enjoying his wet from his Ship’s Cat mug!

After a great few days with HMS Tamar I must bid farewell for now 😿 A big thank you to CO Lt Cdr Hutchinson & MEO Lt Wright for their hospitality, and to the many junior Marine Engineers who kept finding me hiding around the ship but didn’t blow my cover. Legends, all! 😸

*volume up* I thought I’d lend a paw on HMS Tamar’s Bridge. I just can’t understand why cats were banned from ships when we’re so helpful in the workplace. Baffling.

After all the good food I thought I’d pay a visit to HMS Tamar’s gym. The Marine Engineering Officer has introduced me to the fishies 🐟 game on the rowing machine and explained that when I row hard enough, the Commanding Officer will personally bring me a lobster. Let’s go! 😸

*Volume up* Royal Navy ships used to have cats to keep 🐀 at bay. This stopped in 1975 but the legend lives on & the occasional unauthorised “miaow” may be heard over a main broadcast system... I’d better take cover before I get the blame for this one 😸 @HMS_tamar #CatsOfTwitter

I am conducting spot checks of all interesting-looking doors & hidey-holes on board HMS Tamar. An engineer told me that there’s a secret gammon store next to the tartan paint cupboard & I shall not rest until I have located it! 🍖😸 Just fire fighting gear in this locker...
