I express my warmest thanks to Pope Francis for the appointment of Mgr James Curry as an Auxiliary Bishop for for the Diocese of Westminster. His appointment, I am sure, will be widely welcomed. I welcome it myself, with gratitude to him for his generous response.

I was pleased to join Zoe Ball this morning to speak about the meaning of Good Friday. The death of Christ deals with inescapable realities, good and evil. Evil shatters trust, good deeds hold us together but often involve sacrifice.
