Last week, our Community Outreach team ran a workshop with Yorkshire Mushroom Emporium, where NHS staff learned how to grow oyster mushrooms. They also enjoyed trying Lion’s Mane tea. After nurturing their mixture for 2-3 weeks, they should have their own harvest to enjoy 🍄

RHS Gardens of Imagination is about exploring how herbals are represented in contemporary communities through the healing power of gardens, gardening and plants 🌿

The Lewisham-based project is being led by award-winning artist Alice Burnhope.

Boring, but necessary, work carried out at the Blantyre Miners Welfare Community Garden today. Five raised beds weeded, ready for summer planting. And the plant hospital was taken care of. Plants were either, ‘oot’ into the compost heap, or saved for another day! RHS Community Gardening

Another wonderful, well attended community event in the memorial forest at Clowes Park, Broughton.

Together with the support of Salford City Council Ranger Team and RHS Community Gardening over 50 people attended to help plant wildflower plugs and clear a woodland walk.

A new RHS community garden has been built at Essex-based housing association CHP community hub, thanks to NHS funding. It includes fruit trees, bug hotels and a kids den, and any produce grown on site will be given away for free to locals.
