Hole focus: 'Lake' (#14)

One of the most difficult holes on the course, this long par four plays into the prevailing winds. A good drive sets up an approach into a two-tiered green, which could vary club selection drastically depending on pin location.

Hole focus: 'Field' (#13)

The start of the famous closing stretch here at #RLGCHoylake . This par-five is long, requiring two mighty strikes to reach the green under regulation. Picking up a birdie here will be very useful before you negotiate the final five holes.

In part three of our agronomy-focussed mini-series, James and Hannah are eradicating some of the invasive woodland areas surrounding the course. Ensuring these good practices now helps to preserve the reed beds for endangered species who call them home.
