Wet, unburned bogs have more species of Sphagnum moss.

โœ…Sphagnum moss is key to forming peat
โœ…Healthy peat is a huge carbon store!

Say NO to burning protected upland peatlands in England.

Twitter Web App : Rob Archer Hi Rob, thanks for getting in touch. Seeing baby birds on their own is perfectly normal, so no need to worry. They leave the nest before they can fly & often spend a few days looking lost on the ground. The parents are often nearby. Find out more here๐Ÿ‘‰bit.ly/InjuredandBabyโ€ฆ

Twitter Web App : Charlie Wells Hi Kevin and Charlie, it is illegal to intentionally disturb or damage an active nest, and so if you believe this to be the case here, then please ring your local wildlife crime officer on 101. You can find more info on the law here: community.rspb.org.uk/ourwork/b/rspbโ€ฆ. Hope this helps :)

Twitter Web App : Chris Holding Hi Chris, looks like that's a fledgling learning the ropes of how to fly! All birds, once leaving the nest, can take a few days to master the art before they take to the skies so this is perfectly normal (and lovely to see too!) Thanks for sharing โ˜บ๏ธ

Twitter Web App : Jasmine ๐ŸŒธ ...Away from the nest site, it will need expert care, and so we'd recommend you contact the RSPCA (0300 1234 999) or your local wildlife rescue centre at helpwildlife.co.uk. You can find further advice here: rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildโ€ฆ. (2/2)

Twitter Web App : Jasmine ๐ŸŒธ Hi Jasmine, it looks like a fledgling bird - once birds leave the nest they take a few days to learn how to fly off from the ground so finding them on the ground is perfectly normal... (1/2)

TweetDeck : Like an introvert at a party (#me) swifts are one of the last to arrive and the first to leave of our summer migrants ๐Ÿ’”
