Over the weekend I joined campaign launches for two Manchester Labour 🐝 candidates: Cllr Luthfur Rahman OBE in Longsight and Julie Jarman in @Ancoats_Beswick - two great Labour candidates.
On 2 May, vote for your Manchester Labour 🐝 candidate in your ward and to re-elect Andy Burnham!
196 Aid Workers indiscriminately killed since October. A UN Peacekeeping force needs to intervene and ensure a Ceasefire is implemented, Aid going in and economic and diplomatic sanctions imposed. Starting with an embargo on all weapons sales/supply. #CeasefireNOW
The United Nations Security Council’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is vital and must be a turning point.
The British government must urgently apply diplomatic pressure for it to be implemented in full.
The indiscriminate killings and starvation of 1.9million people must STOP now. I discussed the catastrophic situation on the ground in Gaza with the Deputy Ambassador & Political officer for the Palestinian mission on what more we can do to help. #CeasefireNow
SHiFT Manchester: We’ve hit the ground running!
Last week we celebrated a partnership between SHiFT and Manchester City Council, supported by Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit. Together, we are doing whatever it takes to break the destructive cycle of children caught up in, or at risk of, crime.
The only way to end the suffering of “innocent Palestinians” is to STOP the killings and the starvation of an entire population! Joe Biden can end this suffering #CeasefireNow #Peace United Nations
An immediate permanent Ceasefire!
This suffering should never have been allowed to happen.
Violence is not the path to peace.
The ICJ ruling must be implemented in full.
An independent inquiry into the flour massacre.
Rishi Sunak must join The Labour Party calls for Ceasefire.
We are looking forward to greeting you at HOME today. If you haven't booked, just pop along from 1pm and in Theatre 1 from 2pm. Cllr Luthfur Rahman OBE #itallstartswithaspark
I condemn Thursday’s incident in Gaza in which more than 100 people were reportedly killed or injured while seeking life-saving aid.
The desperate civilians in Gaza need urgent help, including those in the north where the United Nations has not been able to deliver aid in more than a week.
Cllr Luthfur Rahman OBE is holding an event HOME on Sunday 3 March, inviting local residents join a conversation on culture as we create a new 10 year plan for Manchester. #itallstartswithaspark
