I don't recall any statement or policy by May as PM in July-Oct 2016 that reflected this aim to engage the 48% as well as the 52?

The Times and The Sunday Times I find this viewpoint most prevalent among those who've (a) had a big head start in life; or (b) are naturally smart/talented.

As for everyone else, if you haven't gone very far in life then the natural conclusion is 'it's all your fault, loser.'

Thread (1/16)

The far right seized on the 75th Anniversary to claim that it is time to replace the NHS with a privatised, social insurance model.

This thread explains what they want, how they lie to us and what we can do about it.

Amazed at the Mail, Telegraph & Spectator all running pieces today about how bad a NATO General Secretary Ursula von de Leyen would be & claiming Biden is backing her despite NATO having just endorsed Jens Stoltenberg for another year. Thousands of angry words, ignoring evidence.

Man I think Twitter pretty much died this weekend. Elon and Rogan teaming up to harass a covid scientist to the point a QAnon nutjob showed up at his house today. Getting scary.

It is crazy how the antivaxx just don’t give up. They promised mass extinction events, widespread infertility, mutant babies. None of it happened and they’re still duping some of the richest, most gullible men on earth.

'What's the expression? 'Never wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty, and the pig gets 40,000 new followers on Twitter.''

Tonight, I explained why a world-renowned, peer-reviewed vaccine scientist should most certainly not 'debate' an anti-vax crank:

(3/3) In the constant contest between aviation measures and counter-measures, it is likely that Russia has gained a temporary advantage in southern Ukraine, especially with attack helicopters employing longer-range missiles against ground targets.

Socialism according to Republicans:

—Universal Health Care
—Investing in Clean Energy
—Expanding Voting Rights
—Getting Money Out of Politics
—Safeguarding Our Elections
—Defending Social Security

So basically anything that strengthens our democracy and economy.

This “being forced out of parliament by a tiny handful of people” is rubbish. He couldn’t be “forced out” without a vote of the whole House of Commons, a recall petition and a by-election

I expect - despite his resignation - the Privileges Committee will still publish its report and the government ought to allow a vote on its recommendations - in line with the precedent of the Standards Committee report on Owen Paterson

When George Harrison’s album ‘Living In the Material World’ came out in 1973, everyone thought it was total garbage.

But 50 years later, this candid, conflicted, self-contradictory LP has reached Sleeper Masterpiece status. Here’s how it happened. trib.al/KlJOSDC
