A fresh take to merit and exclusivity shows that a “progress oriented” approach can lead to breakthroughs with enough perseverance and authentic efforts. Truly inspiring to read this piece. So much in parallel to what the startup ecosystem enables. Credentials <<< Progress slope

'Can a sport, a club or any creative pursuit on campus be imagined as open to anyone, free from the barriers of CGPAs or merit? With this question, a few women built the first ever women’s football team at IIT Delhi.'

So heartening to read this wonderful post from IIT Delhi. Change is possible on male-dominated, hierarchical campuses where a narrow JEE rank determined idea of merit reigns supreme. More power to you, girls- go ahead and change the culture of the IITs. bspiitd.com/post/demand-th…

Sharing the article to bring focus on the expensive flowers used to decorate the train. This has now become a thing! Recall the Ram Mandir interior similarly swamped. Withholding socio comment, can only say the flower industry must be minting! rediff.com/news/interview…

Japan read the writing on the wall & did the needful. India sorely needs to invest in affordable care across classes. Institutions also need to be held accountable. Leveraging the care economy will also generate employment. Good suggestions in the article.indianexpress.com/article/opinio…

Cotton from the silk cotton tree - up in the tree it likes a single ball of cotton but if you look at one closely you see that it consists of a tight cluster of small pure white cotton balls.

Deeply saddened by the loss of my old friend and classmate, Hari Sen. He was a fine historian and did pioneering research on Rajasthan; he was also a great teacher who inspired generations of students at Delhi University's Ramjas College. He was in every way an exemplary human…

Alec MacGillis I live in America & I haven’t seen family friendly policies. A female professor friend has to scramble to get her grad students maternity leave without wrecking their lives and lab work.

My jobs offered half time for salaried parents
w/o losing insurance but that’s it.
