It's #ThankfulThursday , and we're shouting out Guidewire Software, a Gold-tier member of our regional Ready 365 Giving Circle. Their support ensures we can both prepare for and respond to disasters when and where we're needed. Thank you for moving our mission forward!
Don't forget: Red Cross Summer Internship applications are OPEN! This is a great opportunity for high-schoolers/undergrads to experience different lines of service. Applications are open now through April 22. ๐ Email [email protected] to learn more/apply. Space is limited!
Our #SoundTheAlarm event in San Jose last weekend was a success! Along with the San Josรฉ Fire Dept., Tzu Chi, Mayor Matt Mahan and Councilmember Bien Doan, we installed free smoke detectors and shared home fire safety info with residents throughout the Mountain Springs Mobile Home Park community.
What a weekend for making homes safer! We were out in force in San Jose and Foster City on Saturday, installing free smoke alarms and sharing home fire safety info with residents. We will continue to #SoundtheAlarm this month, next week in Oakland with the Oakland Fire Department (CA)!
Ditching the plastic bottles for reusable ones that we refill at water stations, like this one at our new San Leandro office, is just one way we're greening our spaces and routines at the Red Cross. What are ways you're reducing your eco impact? #EarthMonth
Yesterday we were in San Francisco as part of this month's #SoundTheAlarm campaign events. Teams made 46 homes safer by testing smoke alarms and sharing home fire safety and prevention info, along w/ constructing home fire escape plans - a key part of a home's preparedness plan.
Smoke alarms are a big deal when it comes to home fire safety, but they're only part of a good preparedness plan. That's why we also share home fire prevention and safety info with residents, along with helping them construct a home fire escape plan. #SoundTheAlarm
Military service involves the whole family - including the kids. During April's #MonthoftheMilitaryChild , the Red Cross thanks both our U.S. military members and their children for their strength and sacrifices made in service to our country. You're all heroes!
Last weekend's #SoundTheAlarm events were such a hit that we can't wait to do it all over again this weekend! We'll be in neighborhoods in Foster City and San Jose on Saturday, April 13 to install free smoke alarms and make homes safer from home fires.
