Republicans have filed over 55 anti-LGBTQ+ bills in the House during this Congress. On #DayOfNoSilence , I’m joining my colleagues in the Congressional Equality Caucus in standing up against attacks on the LGBTQ+ community to protect vulnerable Americans, especially LGBTQ+ youth.
We know that common sense gun laws and background checks work. The new rules from President Biden & ATF HQ will help close loopholes that had previously allowed firearms buyers to bypass background checks and will save lives. #EndGunViolence

As a senior member of Committee on Education & the Workforce Democrats, I’m committed to investing in education. Today I met with some of our district’s school board members to hear about the needs of CA-10 schools and how we can work together to support students and teachers in and out of the classroom.
Democrats have created 15 million jobs since President Biden took office & now the House is taking action with the #AStrongerWorkforceforAmerica Act to fill these jobs by training workers & connecting them with employers. This bill would help build an economy that works for all Americans.
Thanks to President Biden’ new action to cancel student debt, interest on loans for 23 million borrowers would be eliminated and 4 million borrowers’ student debt would be completely cancelled. Democrats are taking steps to ensure higher education is affordable for all Americans.
Thank you, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier for coming to UC Berkeley Journalism to talk with us about the importance of local #journalism and the challenges in our field. We appreciate you!
In Congress, I’ve introduced legislation to protect local journalism & this week I heard from students and faculty Berkeley Journalism. We talked about the support they need to continue their work, which is vital to our democracy and how we can work together to save local news.
