As we face the upcoming two-year mark since our Capitol was violently attacked, our bipartisan committee will be releasing the truth of what happened so our nation and democracy can rebuild stronger.

My team and I helped over 5,000 constituents cut through bureaucratic red tape and recoup over $8 million owed them from the federal government.

Proud that one of my last votes in Congress was for the Puerto Rico Status Act. Throughout my time here, I have championed statehood for PR, but the choice must be up to the people themselves. This bill is a step in the right direction for #PuertoRico to determine their future.

This week, I gave my final speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

As my congressional career draws to a close, I am proud of my service. This job hasn't been easy, but nothing truly worth doing ever is.

When I was considering running for Congress, Nancy Pelosi called personally to express her confidence in me and to encourage me to take the leap. She has been an inspiration for so many young women and has made our country a better place.

We can disagree on policy, but we shouldn't make it personal. It is the responsibility of elected officials to turn down the rhetoric and return civility to our public debates.
