Great Barbet, the largest of the barbets is colorful. Sluggish and shy; tends to stick to dense forest canopy, where it's difficult to spot. Its loud hooting song (typically a series of two repetitive notes) is an indication of the presence of this species.

Elephants spend foraging upto 18 hours per day !! They forage on grasses, fruits, barks, leaves, twigs etc. Here,a lone tusker in corbett pulls down a tree branch for fresh leaves.Their powerful trunk has around 40,000 muscles !!

It's still pretty nippy in early mornings & evenings in the forest of terai. Here, marsh crocodiles basks in the evening on a mound alongside whistling ducks, egrets, cormorants etc in jhaddi lake in Kishanpur WLS.

Sarus crane is the tallest flying bird with wingspan over 7 ft. Here, a sarus pair is seen in flight with 2 subadults in Etawah, U.P. Sarus chicks are one of the fastest growing birds & can stand at 5ft within 12 months !!
