Deeply saddened by the death of Bill Richardson. He introduced me years ago to his life long passion of fighting for the release of hostages & the wrongfully detained.

My thoughts are with his loved ones and colleagues

It’s only a 1st step & every day they continue to be robbed of their freedom is a day too many

But for Siamak, Morad, Emad, two others released from prison, &their loved ones, this is welcome news too long in coming

I know my colleagues won’t rest until they all return home.

My first in-person meeting with my dear friend Michael Kovrig since he was released from his wrongful detention in China. So good to see him healthy, strong - and free!

We are thinking of Baquer and Siamak Namazi, Emad Shargi, and Morad Tahbaz (also a UK citizen), who should be able to celebrate in freedom and surrounded by their loved ones.

My friend & former colleague walks 7,000 steps in his cell every day, for what have now been 1,000 days

Like so many others around the world I walked the same distance in solidarity

Thinking of him, ⁦Vina Nadjibulla⁩ & his loved ones

Today is 994 days since our colleague Michael Kovrig was arbitrarily jailed by China.

His sole offence was to be a Canadian in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Every day his grit and character in the face of injustice inspire us.
