'It's very difficult to do justice to everyone in zealous charity. It's very easy (it happens by itself) to stubbornly do justice only to oneself. If such people were at least tactful! But a tactful fanatic is a contradiction in terms. Charity is tactful' (Fr. M. Horatczuk SJ).

Saint Thomas Aquinas 'reminded his students of an important natural truth: the order of grace does not do away with the order of nature, but builds on it and perfects it' (Fr. Leo Elders SVD, professor at our Major Seminary, to whom we owe so much!).

A lawyer who disliked priests asked Father Abraham a Sancta Clara: 'Father, who would win if a priest and the devil were to go to court against each other?' The laconic answer: 'Without a doubt the devil, because he has the most lawyers on his side.'

The bells of Stift Melk (Austria). First you hear the individual bells, then all of them together. Baroque bells like these are deliberately “disharmonious”, symbolizing that the sound of the consecrated bells frightens the demons. youtube.com//watch?v=4kce0…

'As God breathes a rational soul into man’s body in order to give him natural life, so He breathes His own Spirit into the soul in order to impart to it His own divine life' (Fr. Matthias Joseph Scheeben).

'The Holy Ghost descends through tongues of fire, also as a sign that the Church speaks the truth and that this truth consumes everything that is against her, just as fire consumes everything that can burn' (Quote from a Pentecost Sermon).

'Anyone who persecutes the Church is persecuting God. The liberals can twist and turn like a worm and come along with a tolerantly disguised guillotine. They want to shackle and beat the Church, but they always come up against God: 'Why are you persecuting me?'' Fr. J. Leppich SJ
