Un bel article sur la et la ue , nuancé et fondé sur la science, auquel je suis fière d'avoir collaboré.

People are rightfully concerned about the high case fatality rate (CFR) of the H5N1 influenza virus but did you know fatalities from COVID infection (which already spreads easily between humans) with the elderly are as high as 40% ( twitter.com/MauritzPreller… )? 🧵1/

Airborne infection control needs to become standard in all healthcare settings. Going to a hospital shouldn’t mean forcible infection with illnesses- especially when the ppl in them are already vulnerable

Months before I got Covid for the first time, I wrote this piece about lack of infection control in hospitals.

This week I got to experience it myself when I reluctantly went to the ER for a 10 day migraine- itself a post COVID health issue

🧵I’ve been covid cautious for 5 years now (2 yrs of which I’ve had Long Covid). I don’t know anyone else my age in the UK who is Covid cautious & people always just assume ‘my mum is making me’ but I do this for myself and for others. It’s my choice and it’s a good choice.

7. Scientists don’t ignore other scientists. If you’re ignoring their expertise, you’ve left any claim of science as you’re now practicing dogma…that is, a form of religion.

8. The WHO has finally said it publicly, but you’re still on the ‘N95 no high quality evidence’ trope.

Agree fully we need an inquiry. Lots that needs documentation if only to aid another group of clean air advocates in 25 years.

But to be clear. Anyone who asserts that evidence is poor about N95 effectiveness versus bioaerosols, is confirming they are not conversant with science

BTW, surveillance is not ideal for . It can be detected in WW, but nowhere near as sensitive as for SARS-CoV-2, which is shed in the gut abundantly. Not so for influenza.

❗️And there we go again:
'Our findings demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 infection seems to have a LONG-TERM impact on the brain, even in patients who presented mild acute disease.'

Think about it. We accept masks to protect money but not for patient and healthcare worker’s health and safety. Wild.

This is super interesting and useful inquiry!

Not only does CO2 provide a measure of rebreathed fraction & a proxy for fresh air intake, it’s also a measure of air pH which directly impacts viral decay.

This is Kareem, 7 years old.
My colleague Ahmed asks him, 'What are you writing on your hand?' Kareem replies, 'My name.'
Ahmed asks, 'Why?' Kareem answers, 'So that if Israel bombs me, they will know my name.'

Kareem cries.

À Paris cette scène est anodine, mais pas à Montréal. Une file interminable pour un 4 1/2 (F3) pour 1650$ par mois.
