Wydown coffee shops on 14th and H streets have closed, according to workers looking to unionize, Wydown Workers United.

The closure comes ahead of workers’ formal union election. It looks like owners gave the 30+ workers no notice.

I stopped by The Wydown on H Street this morning to show my support for the workers & what has always been a great place to grab a coffee or meet up with neighbors. If the owners have closed both shops to avoid a vote by workers to organize, it’s the wrong move plain & simple.
