While updating my launch tower models, I tried to reverse-engineer many of the hydraulic systems so they could be modeled as accurately as possible. It's surprising how relatively simple the hydraulics are when you understand how they are controlled.

Flight 4 could be on track to happen in less than a month! When do you think Booster 11 and Ship 29 will return to the launch site for integrated testing?

Before IFT-2, I began creating a procedural wave material for use in my launch site environment. I posted the quoted video but didn't draw any attention to the waves moving in the background. I saw many ways to improve it so with some free time I reworked it

I've spent the past several days doing a Zack Golden level deep dive on the hydraulics for 's Mechazilla arms. I've mostly figured out all the hydraulics and it makes a lot more sense why we see some of the arm behavior that we do. Specifically for the stabilizers and

Over the past year there has been a large influx of launch animations from the 3D artist community. Given this influx and the fact that Starship has flown for real 3 times now, are Starship launch animations still worth doing? Or should effort be placed elsewhere?

Thursday, March 14th, 2024 and took to the skies for Flight 3. Building on the success of Flight 2, B10 completed its boostback burn making it the first booster to make a touchdown in the Gulf of Mexico. S28 completed its insertion burn making it

Not sure if anyone else has brought this up, but Super Heavy B10 crossed 100km. So would that technically make it the largest object to reach space, beating out Starship?

The changes they made to staging worked! Looks like it was a combination of stuff like I assumed. Unclear if the asymmetric boostback shutdown had anything to do with the landing burn issues or not.
