I met with interagency leaders to discuss illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing around the globe. The DON takes great pride in working with the Department of State, NOAA, U.S. Coast Guard and the broader interagency, along with our international partners, to tackle this most important issue.

Proud to participate in the Navy Education for Seapower Advisory Board meeting. Education is crucial in building a culture of warfighting excellence. It supports communication, character, judgment, diplomacy & partnerships. This board's work in education truly matters!

I’m honored to sign the Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month Joint Proclamation at the U.S. Naval Academy. We must ensure each Sailor & Marine is treated with dignity & respect, as well as speak up & display moral courage in the face of these destructive & harmful behaviors.

This morning I visited with Hawaii's Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council. Our Navy's future success depends on strong partnerships with innovative and agile businesses, and our DON is committed to providing opportunities for Hawaiian businesses as part of our endeavors.

I’m grateful to have had the chance to visit Loko ia Pāaiau fishpond today and learn from the Native Hawaiian kupuna of this community. It was an honor to see the progress of this fishpond’s historic preservation and restoration.

It was wonderful to be in New York last night for the 27th Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation Semper Fidelis Gala. This organization has delivered more than $90 million in scholarships to the children of fallen Marines and servicemembers, and it was an honor to be there.
