I forgot how much we love this lesson…Historical Thinking with the Lunchroom Fight from @SHEG_Stanford! If you do this lesson, I highly suggest cutting apart the evidence and put it in an envelope.

Thank you Joel Breakstone for presenting at today’s @DCSSConference! The materials available for SS teachers at @SHEG_Stanford, that support them in helping them to work with their students on media literacy, are invaluable.

“…Historians cared about source, who made the document, and what’s going on…” Another great webinar from @SHEG_Stanford! Learning new ways to engage students with formative assessments and challenge their thinking. Looking forward to the next two webinars in September!

Excited to work with students on an activity from @SHEG_Stanford that's been blended with a literacy strategy I picked up from KEDC ACHIEVE and The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to analyze historian claims on the Declaration of Independence. KEDC Grants KEDC Jackie White Crosslin Jim Evans Ed.D.

I'd highly recommend using @SHEG_Stanford's 'Lunchroom Fight' lesson in your first few weeks this school year. Ss like it b/c its relatable, prompts good conversation, and helps present the ideas of bias/perspective in an interesting way!
