Making caring visible is about helping those who care to recognise what they do and for those around them to recognise the important role that they play. If you identify as a carer for someone using mental health services please contact the college to find out more

Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. When inhaled, the scent molecules in essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional centre of the brain.

Appreciating the varying shapes and sizes in nature and recognising that they all have value is a great way to promote acceptance as a mindset in our lives. Acceptance is often a turning point in mental health recovery. Why not join our acceptance course to find out more

This Japanese practice is a process of relaxation; known in Japan as shinrin yoku. The simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply can help de-stress and boost health and wellbeing in a natural way.

Being in awe of nature can help us to bring perspective to our place in the world. Wondering at the enormity of the life cycles of the natural world can help us to see that there is order in the world around us when there seems to be chaos everywhere.

Sleep problems can be both the effect of changes in mental health but also play a part in causing or triggering some psychological conditions. Because of the circular relationship between the two it is important to pay attention to our sleep habits and thoughts about sleep.
