Not only does sex work provided with a living in a transphobic society, it pays for medical expenses and surgery.

We take in & support members of our community who can’t work or need shelter.

The attitudes towards sex workers are uncalled for
So many people judging something they probably know little about

This work is I often covert (and for good reason) but it definitely supports more than just the worker, and ever those who are prejudiced against us sometimes unknowingly benefit heavily from us.

The UN's Guide to the Human Rights of Sex Workers has confirmed that decriminalisation is best practice to uphold the human rights of sex workers: 'Sex work is real work. Everyone deserves dignity, autonomy and safety in the workplace, including sex workers.'

Decriminalising adult, consented sex work is a step towards eliminating discrimination and creating a more just society. Support @sisonkesa,Sex Workers Education and Advocacy Taskforce in this important cause. #StandWithSisonke

also this is why decrim matters!! Because Victoria implemented decrim AND anti-discrimination protection for SWers alongside it, sex workers have the ability to fight this disgusting attitude and stamp it out. If this were 2 years ago, there were no protections.

The Nordic Model thrives on collateral damage to sex workers, our communities, & our families in the pursuit of those who purchase sexual services. The husband of one of our members will soon be charged with procuration, despite having no involvement with her sex work. Thread ⬇️

The only way to combat exploitation is to recognize sex work as work and create safe working environments for workers. Everything else is centered on abolitionist ideologies that are not created to free workers from exploitation. #SexWorkMatters #SexWorkIsWork

Case in point why sex work needs to be a protected class. Occupational discrimination keeps people trapped even when they try to find traditional employment.

When you do sex work: “no no no, you can’t do this job, quit and find some other job to do!”

When you quit sex work and try to do something else: “no no no, you can’t have THIS job, you used to be a sex worker!”
