1st year as an author & early-career researcher. My debut poetry collection is in the National Museum of Barbados. I performed my heart out & in different countries. I guest lectured at Cambridge University. I smiled, I laughed, I cried happy tears. And... glowing skin. 🥰

I don't have a problem with women over 30 rapping or doing anything considered to be a 'young person's game'. I believe we should offer the arts the nuance that's been gifted to us that comes from simply living. Let's develop new genres. Let's demonstrate the gift of maturity.

I once wrote an 'out of office' message and then vowed never to do it again. I want to leave space for potential adventures and I may not wish to return on a particular date. I have learned that being 'unavailable' to others is not a crime. Happy Holidays! Breathe!

I accidentally read an advert about 'taking in pets' as 'taking in poets'... Time for a break I think.

A quote that has really stuck with me ever since I first heard it some time ago:

“Make time for joy because grief makes time for itself”

I wish we were allowed to be excited about not having everything figured out, surely this leaves more room for adventures. Who decided every woman should have achieved 'everything' by 30? Why does the blueprint not include cheesecake & Star Wars Marathons on weekdays?
