I would argue that the value of the Humanities is self-evident and that it doesn't need to have economic value to be worthwhile. But if you do need that, a House of Lords report says the economic value of the UK's arts and culture sector was £34 billion in 2022.

It a convenient lie that to support trans people is to ignore women. In fact, poll after poll after poll shows that women both support trans rights and support them more than men. See for example this, from YouGov (yougov.co.uk/society/articl…). 🧵

A helpful piece of advice I saw if a HCW is dismissing your health concerns with “lose weight”:

“Healthy weight loss is ~1lb/week. Losing the amount you’re suggesting would take X months. What is your plan to address my immediate symptoms?”

Yes, this is worth pointing out! It's normal and expected to do free events as part of publicising a new book, and obviously you might choose to do a free one to support a local library or something, but that's very much not the norm.
