iPhone : ⒹⒶⓃⒺ Shaun_sufc So we did ask Mayor Jarvis about the rules around amateur sport and it does sound as though the normal rule-of-six restrictions will apply. Full interview below, relevant answer towards the bottom. Hope that helps!

iPhone : And this brilliant piece from David Walsh lays bare just how many businesses from South Yorkshire stand to be affected by Tier 3 restrictions. It’s going to be a tough winter for many pubs and bars. Let’s hope they survive it.

Twitter Web App : In other news (and I didn't think I'd be thinking of anything beyond Tier 3 restrictions today), Sheffield Council leader Julie Dore has issued an apology for the tree felling scandal. This feels like a big moment for Sheffield. Read it in full here 👇

iPhone : ⒹⒶⓃⒺ Shaun_sufc We have requested an interview with Dan Jarvis today for more information and clarity on some of the points, and have been told we’re “on a list.” But I have asked the reporter who’ll be doing the interview to get some further clarity about outdoor sporting events & rule of 6.

iPhone : ⒹⒶⓃⒺ Shaun_sufc From what was sent out by Dan Jarvis’ office concerning the Tier 3 restrictions this morning, it sounds as though households CAN mix at sports venues but the rule of 6 applies. I’m guessing with parents etc there will be more than six there? They don’t come in until 00:01 Sat tho

Twitter Web App : Word. Let's support our local pubs and businesses while we can, stay safe and stick to the rules so we can hopefully come out of this sooner rather than later. And ideally, with as few Covid cases as possible. twitter.com/LutheBlue/stat…

Twitter Web App : Shaun_sufc Yes, a deal to move us into Tier 3 from 00:01 on Saturday, October 24 has been agreed, with a £41million financial package for South Yorkshire. This is comprised of £30million for businesses in the region, and £11million for the four local authorities.

iPhone : Residents in South Yorkshire are being told to avoid travelling outside the the county or entering another “Very High” alert level, which is how Tier 3 is defined, “other than for work, education or for caring responsibilities or to travel through as part of a longer journey.”

iPhone : Gyms CAN remain open (but gym classes won’t be allowed) and it’ll be interesting to see whether Ponds Forge finally reopens as planned on Monday, October 26. Molly Williams should hopefully have more on this later today.

iPhone : The restrictions mean households can ONLY mix in outdoor public spaces such as parks, beach or the countryside, subject to the rule of six. All bars and pubs must close, unless they serve what is described as “substantial meals.”

iPhone : BREAKING: Dan Jarvis has confirmed that South Yorkshire will move into Tier 3 from 00:01 on Saturday, October 24 and will include Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield. A funding package of £41m has been agreed, including £30m for businesses and £11m for local authorities.

Twitter Web App : NEW: Annoucement on South Yorkshire moving into Covid-19 Tier 3 expected in next hour or so. Hoping to speak to Mayor Dan Jarvis later today.
