Words are important & this revisionist language centers the comfort of white people by erasing the word slavery. If we don’t have to say it then we don’t have to own the truths of slavery & how it still impacts us today.

Attacking trans youth and their families, censoring books, preventing educators from teaching the truth about our history and current realities, protecting guns over human life, making abortion illegal, segregation…
