Good to see recognition of AW’s importance and hope SG can help save it this year. But this merry-go-round of funding body decision followed by reactive SG intervention will not stop until culture is properly resourced. Ours is the lowest investment in the arts in Europe.

Goodness this is terrible news - I've done a lot of book events and the Aye Write festival is one of the absolute best - it's brilliantly organised, they get great engaged crowds - so this is a real shame. But check out their other events, and hopefully they will be back soon

Really disappointed that Aye Write has been cancelled due to a lack of public funding. It has been one of the biggest fixtures on Scotland's cultural calendar for well over a decade, and it always meant a lot to me to take part in my hometown book festival.

Unfortunately our 2024 funding application for Aye Write and Wee Write was not successful so the festivals will not take place this year.
