The book is both informative and introspective. And for those of us in science communications... it's emotional.

Bill will join our Across The Sky Podcast next week to talk about it.

Next week, it's going to feel more like early June.
And the next 2 weeks look much drier than normal.

Storm reports from last night were mostly from downed trees.

Several reports were concentrated in Henry and Pittsylvania Counties.

Also a scattering of downed trees between Lynchburg and Richmond.

Closest to RVA, there were a few trees down between Midlothian and Bon Air.

Short version for RVA.

Windy, less humid tomorrow with some nuisance showers, then a long dry spell gets started.

Easily the warmest period so far this season gets started on Sunday. May be underselling it, TBH.

Several hours of rain ahead Thursday in RVA... with the focus in the afternoon. Quick thunderstorm also possible toward the end of the day.

Windy and cool Friday with a quick afternoon shower, but not a wet day.

Dry both days this weekend and markedly warmer on Sunday.

Lots of clouds for the Squirrels' home opener.

First pitch temperature in the 70s, then slowly dropping toward the mid 60s by the ninth.

Aside from an isolated passing sprinkle or two, no rain this evening.

Wind - while not strong - will be blowing out to left field.

'What's that pink stuff?' You're seeing the Sun's chromosphere. The large structure at the bottom is called a prominence - a loop of plasma jotting out from the solar surface, shaped by the Sun's magnetic field. They're so large, you could fit an entire Earth or two within them!
