Super Dortmund performance. Full of all that old emotion. Plenty of quality, too.

Jadon Sancho has been good. Played with expression at all the right times tonight, and conservatively when he had to.

Magic. What a game.

Wonderful BVB goal. Really, really well made and what a header from Fullkrug.

And Atleti deserve that, because they’ve been far superior since HT. Dortmund just cannot control the ball.

Hummels doesn’t deserve that. He’s been terrific in the Champions League.

Some of those Atleti players might get John Sitton’d at half time by Simeone.

A very first Champions League goal for Ian Maatsen. Big moment, but that driving run from out to in and the connection with an attacking player was so typical of his good work in Dortmund so far.

What a ball from Hummels to put Brandt in. Like Luka Modric playing centre-back. BVB deserve their lead; playing by far the more purposeful football so far.

The nastier the football team, the more friendly their captain is during the coin toss.

Watching what it meant to the players, their families and all the people at the club who you don't know, is probably my favourite moment in German football so far.

I do think Fullkrug will cause some problems against that Atleti defence, though. He has that bullish quality that so often seems to matter on nights where everything is more urgent. And that is no vintage Simeone back-three.

There isn’t a Dortmund result tonight that would surprise me.
