Flint is just as much part of the Seven Sisters story as chalk.

Occasionally you may find sea urchins in which the original calcite shell and soft parts have been replaced by silica (quartz), presenting you with a flint fossil.

Where the skylarks sing.

It's here on the grassland where visitors get to hear and spot that songster of the Downs, the skylark.

At the height of summer, it's not unusual to walk along the paths and see dozens of them take off for their flight-song.

Our cows are currently working to restore our species-rich wildflower meadows, keeping the grasses short so wildflowers can thrive in the summer.
