One interesting observation: OMNY and WFH commuting patterns mean that many people aren't buying unlimited passes anymore. It used to be that you could ask for a swipe and someone would let you in bc it didn't cost them anything... not as much anymore.

Saying “fare evasion is a problem for transit” isn’t the same thing as saying “we need the NYPD to beat up people for hoping turnstiles”

I’m just saying that society is comfortable w/ignoring fares in a way that wasn’t true before.
