I think it goes both ways. I'm writing my first book at 40 after two kids and I don't know if I would have gotten here without being a mother. Not that being a mother made me more creative, but it made me slow down enough to be creative. The boring bits have me time to think.

Why am I getting so many PR pitches lately? I've barely published in the last few years and suddenly I'm getting multiple pitches a day from PR folks.
