50 years ago today, Cool Papa Bell joined Satchel
Paige, Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard and Monte Irvin as the fifth Negro Leaguer elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum ⚾. They were all part of an incredible group of electees via the Committee on Negro Baseball Leagues from 1971-77.
Today the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum ⚾ debuted a new program that will send free resource kits to schools, allowing classrooms across the country to teach important history through the lens of baseball. There’s no cost to the schools!

This was fun. Among the crowd was a family of Texas Rangers fans who had tried to visit Cooperstown multiple times, only to have the trip postponed and delayed. They finally made it, arriving the very day these artifacts from Texas’ #WorldSeries victory made it to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum ⚾.
