And the 2024 BBC Music Magazine Recording of the Year goes to conductor John Wilson, for his and the Sinfonia of London’s recording of works for string orchestra by Vaughan Williams, Howells, Delius and Elgar on Chandos Records!

And the winner of the 2024 BBC Music Magazine Opera Award is Chandos Records’ recording of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! It’s another win for conductor John Wilson and the Sinfonia of London, plus exceptional soloists including Nathaniel Hackmann and Sierra Boggess.

A special mention, too, for the fine picture of Gloucester Cathedral – one of the finest in England (and our deputy editor's favourite) – on the cover of the Sinfonia of London’s winning recording.
