Brilliant aurora display last night at Glenarm - including my first sub auroral arc of solar cycle 25! I had to try for a pano to fit it all in. This arc was right above my head at the time!

The Balbriggan aurora gang last night. Great night was had by all. My first workshop experience. Made a few people’s dreams come true by showing the results they can achieve with just their phones.

This was taken on my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

2 months ago still the best single night I've experienced. It's still my profile pic everywhere for a reason.

What makes it even more special was that I was the only one there to see it at its peak. Balbriggan usually has a crowd. Not that time. Perfect clear skies as well.

The aurora trying its best to cut through the cloud and light pollution at Laytown early last night. This was 4 hours before the previous shot at Balbriggan.

I spoke with one of the lovely people at the Royal Meteorological Society a couple days ago about winning the Young Weather Photographer award as well as other weather things. 😁

It’s definitely an excellent read and I’d like to thank them once again for the award!

This year is about the furthest thing from a weak, “modoki”/central Pacific El Niño as you could possibly get & that’s not going to change between now and winter.

No amount of “well this MEI index says ___” or “the SST pattern will become more central pacific based late winter…
