Peter Saville on his 2010 England shirt:

'I wanted to take the cross and make it in a multitude of colours: I would have made it in a million colours if I'd been given that opportunity!

'I wanted it to be something that a diverse cross-section of people could identify with.'

- The majority of England kits have had no flags on them
- When flags are used on kits it has always been perfectly normal to change the look of them (colours inc.), regardless of brand, team
- The purples/blues/reds on the new kits are a nod to England 1966 training gear

Can't lie, I'm so envious of the furore around the new England shirt. I wish this one had been launched more recently. The thought of puce-faced racists fuming over graphic design and positive messaging properly floats my boat 😂

Fun kit moment yesterday seeing Villa replace their usual sponsor BK8 with the logo of charity Acorns, due to regs in the Netherlands regarding betting sponsors.

Acorns previously featured on the front of Villa shirts between 2008-2010.
