The latest milestone for the OTSMP came in January, when the UKHO’s hydrographic programmes team hosted 22 delegates from 13 Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies at the organisation’s headquarters in Taunton.

The Speaker of the UK House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, departed St Helena following the conclusion of his five-day visit to the territory. During his time here he met with a range of the community, from young persons to businesses.

The Governor, the Chief Minister, Sir Lindsay Hoyle and Speaker Gunnell placed commemorative wreaths at the cenotaph in Jamestown. The cenotaph serves to honour those who lost their lives in the violence of war, as well as those who served and survived war.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle visited Longwood House where he was received by the Honorary French Consul for a tour of the house and gardens. Longwood House was final residence of Napoleon during his exile on St Helena.
