The Upcycle Fashion Show house competition is taking place after school today, we cant wait to see the designs! Thanks to the Eco Committee and DT department for support in promoting and preparing for this event!

Thanks to the 6th form Chaplaincy Team for putting on a fantastic celebration event for Year 7 & 8 students after school yesterday so they could learn about the Baha'i festival of Ridvan.

This week the Student Chaplaincy Team will be sharing information about the Baha'i festival Ridvan which includes hosting a celebration event for Year 7 and 8 students after school today so they learn more about this festival and the Baha'i faith.

This Thursday we will holding our own election for Mayor of London as part of the 'What is Democracy?' topic that all students have been studying in CPHSE this term. All students will have an opportunity to cast their vote!

Today is the 2nd 'My Future Self' workshop for Year 10 girls. It is wonderful that they are going to hear the inspirational career stories of Omavuayere Famojuro and Ranu Sharma who work in the finance sector. Thanks to governor and alumna Hannah Awonuga for organising the event.

Following on from the Year Options evening earlier in the week, it is Year 9 Parents' evening after school today on SchoolCloud. The evening is a chance for subject teachers to feedback to parents/carers and students, which will hopefully inform options choices.

Students from the KS3 Faith in Action group were delighted to be able to attend the Education Service - Southwark Good Samaritan Mass earlier today and Maia B in Year was honoured to be one of the readers. The students enjoyed meeting Archbishop John Wilson after the Mass.

The summer term PE clubs are well underway and here's a wide variety of sports for all year groups to get involved in. Students should see their PE teacher for more details.

This week we welcome students and teachers from the Salesian School in Florence to St Michael's. They will be spending time in lessons with their exchange partners and visiting the sites of London. St Michael's students are already looking forward to their return visit in May.

Today the 1st CPHSE topic of the summer term was launched with students in all year groups- which is 'What is Democracy?'
An important topic given the upcoming local and mayor elections in London.

Happy St George's Day! St George is the patron Saint of England and Georgia, a Christian martyr who during the Middle Ages became an ideal of martial valour and selflessness. May we be inspired by St George's strength, courage and devotion to his Christian faith.

On #StephenLawrenceDay students in years 7,8 & 9 are taking part in an event with guest speakers from the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation to honour Stephen's life and stand up to discrimination. Our college prayer intention this week is for Stephen and all victims of knife crime, racism and injustice.

On #earth day the St Michael's community are praying together that everyone across the world will care more deeply about the earth. Assemblies this week will focus on how we as a school can respond to Pope Francis' call in Laudato Si to care for our common home.
