there are people who will pick through every word of what some random students at a pro-palestine protest are saying looking for something offensive, meanwhile your average mainstream israeli media voice is saying shit like this on TV without challenge

Some (more) very serious questions raised here about the Cass Review. If you wanted to be sure it was not a Potemkin exercise in reaching a pre-determined outcome you'd certainly want answers.

The UK be like 'trans people aren't real, they just have mental health issues, also mental health issues aren't real, get a job, also there are no jobs'

An injustice somewhere is an injustice everywhere.

I'm really proud that Zoë Garbett - running for Mayor of London for the Green Party - is speaking with total clarity that following the Cass review we stand with our trans communities.

This is totally shocking from complacent Labour politicians who, frankly, take voters for granted.

Seriously, folks, if Labour don’t turn up for you, don’t turn up for them. Instead, vote for those who do show up & don’t take you for granted.

I wonder who's been tearing down Green candidates' posters (displayed private property with owners' permission) and replacing them with Hackney Labour posters 🤔

Doesn’t go unnoticed that my Hoxton election posters are being torn down & mysteriously replaced by particular other candidates’

Not all of us campaign with integrity but 🤷🏻‍♂️

British libel law consistently functions as a means for rich people to squelch the dissent of those poorer. It's the biggest free speech issue in our country by a mile.

1. Two years ago, Hillary Cass met with DeSantis picks and collaborated on a trans care ban in Florida.

Now her review targets trans people in England.

It is filled with flawed claims over evidence, toys, and social transition.

Sad to say I've been laid off by openDemocracy, along with several of my incredible colleagues in the UK. It's one dark day of many for British journalism, but I'm immensely proud of everything we achieved together. Here's some of the best. 🧵

In October 2023 our coroner issued a prevention of future deaths report, after my trans child took her life, due to poor MH attributed to lack of access to trans affirmative care.

8 months later recommends access be blocked until patients are 25

This will break people.

Look at this:

A solid statement that 'no conclusions can be drawn' about whether hormones help dysphoria, because they excluded all the relevant studies.

But right next to it, a claim that social transition could cause persistence, based purely on extrapolated conjecture!

TLDR of the Cass Review:

'we disregarded nearly all studies because they weren't double blinded controlled studies. We also stopped reviewing newer studies released in the last two years. As a result, we were left with very little evidence.'

This is an impossible standard.
