A bigger point is that much of Olympic costs on taxpayers. Public money transferred to private interests. Taxpayers foot bills so TV, sponsors, reap profits. Much like taxpayers building sports venues so private owners profit. IOC is a sports biz just like NBA. NFL.

Agree. Pay the Olympic volunteers. Criminal that many profit — IOC, TV, sponsors, IOC MEMBERS — on unpaid labor. Each Olympics save probably $100 million or more by not, not paying the help. This is wrong.
