Thanks Alison. I am no hero but having survived childhood cancer myself, and witnessed the devastating effects of end-stage diabetes on my Mum during my teens, I entered medicine knowing how important empathy was. I then just had to prove it.

I love this from Dr Rachel Clarke. @Michaelrosen asks why they held his hand when he was unconscious - to help blood pressure he suggests and - she adds: “because you are a human being & she wanted to be a human being towards you -and that’s the glue that runs through healthcare”

This is madness
Spread dangerous anti vax info? GMC not interested
Attempt peaceful protest to save the planet?
Get suspended for 5 months.
In what way could this possibly harm patients or the profession?
GMC in self -parody mode now

The GMC’s argument that it is compelled to investigate and punish all doctors who have been found to break the law is fundamentally flawed. This case has absolutely no bearing on patient care, safety, public confidence nor trust - which should be the GMC’s sole consideration.
