A great day out for our Yr 10 pupils at their GCSE Geography Field Work trip

An inspirational visit to Houstone School today, I met some year 11 boys who told me about how well the school had prepared them for exams and for their next steps. Lessons were calm and purposeful, it felt like a great place to work and learn. Bravo Liz English and team!

What is so heartbreaking is that everyone recognises the contribution of NowTeach - & more importantly the Now Teachers. We are doing all we can to try and bridge this period. We are still recruiting a fab 2024 cohort and will continue to support all existing Now Teachers.

I visited a park this weekend. There were signs in the car park saying don’t litter & pay for your parking before you leave. I think the owners of this park may hate people…..

Working in challenging schools is hard work

Not many people want to do this. There isn’t a queue

Those that do actually take professional risk as if it goes wrong potentially it’s career over

Yet they face endless criticism from keyboard warriors

This is excellent.

I am astonished at the number of people who loudly proclaim the opposite of what is true, such as that rules and routines are somehow not only bad for kids with ADHD and autism but possibly discriminatory. Rules and routines are an intervention to *help* neurodiverse kids.

This is such a mistake.

Show me you’ve never had to experience a prison as an inmate or visitor, without saying that you’ve never had to experience a prison.

Offensive.

The sector is still reeling from a HT suicide, fuelled by harsh judgements of the school.

At the same time, a HT tweets a picture of a corridor that in 24hrs has had 1m views, over 800 comments. All sorts of horrible accusations/comments.

Do we only care when it's too late?
