If you had seen our owners last Saturday night in Glasgow you may have questioned us !!!!

Probably should add that it’s important for syndicates to have a good open relationship with their trainers so no one spends too much money on a poor horse, we would rather spend money on retraining them so someone else benefits.

Yup - that didn’t look good and we’re not totally convinced the clubs that lease horses is that transparent either.
So many promote the fact you can own a racehorse for £50 when it’s leased - very misleading.

We buy our own horses and the syndicate owners buy a % share so all the owners benefit if the horse is sold for a profit or we all lose out if it isn’t - the trainer gets the same training fees if one our horses is good or bad but doesn’t benefit from any sale.

We agree - and that is a very valid point, but in a commercial world there are a lot of products that are marked up in price - as long as there is transparency about the costs then who are the fools ?
Maybe there needs to be tighter regulation of micro share companies?

We are always looking to buy but we only buy the right horse at the right price, never just to have any old horse for sale. The problem we have is because of our record we sell out really quickly. Send us an email and we’ll try to keep you up to date.

It’s an interesting argument. We only have 10-12 owners per horse and therefore share size is expensive and out of the reach of a lot of people. As long as syndicates/clubs are transparent then it is up to each individual but those buying shares must do their homework.

Nearly as good as Surrey Shadow on debut 😉

Interesting one - we ask that anyone who buys a share stays in for 12 months. Unfortunately circumstances do change for some and so we ask for a month’s notice after initial year. I think that’s fair for both sides ?
